Samsung Squashes Hack of Voice Assistant App - gallaghermathe1984

Samsung is blocking a hack of its S Voice digital assistant software program that allowed any Android phone running Icecream Sandwich to use the app.

The hack of the app, designed for Samsung's hot new Galaxy S 3 smartphone scheduled to arrive at retailers on May 29, was revealed Saturday in the XDA Assembly.

Since that time, Samsung started block the functionality of the app if it's running play connected any phone model unusual than the Wandflower S Deuce-ac.

Reportedly, phones flying S Voice are sending data to the servers that stomach the software, but the servers, which are run away Vlingo, are ignoring any information requests that don't originate from a Galaxy S III. Much requests produce a "Network Wrongdoing" message connected the handset.

Apparently that's relatively soft to do because information strings sent by the app to the servers contain information distinguishing the call up pattern from which they were sent.

Theoretically, those string section could be spoofed to fool the servers into reasoning the data originated with a Beetleweed S III. It remains to be seen if the cyberpunk community testament raise so much spoofing software system.

Reviews of the hacked interpretation of S Voice were sundry. Some users found functionality limited to search, weather reports, and waking aweigh a phone by shouting "Hi, Beetleweed!" One user, though, wrote that the software program worked as advertised connected a Galaxy Nexus exemplar.
